Until now, Advertisers and Publishers had to deal with tedious data spread across numerous device-specific tabs to comprehend their campaign's performance. To extract critical insights from the noise, they had to sift through the data in a specific way, often exporting to Excel and leaving the platform. This approach overburdened our users, resulting in difficulty for many of them. To address this issue, the Dashboard Summary project aimed to create a unified page visually presenting the most relevant data.
I drew inspiration from Material Design and AdWords to achieve this goal and used a card-based summary page. By talking to Advertisers and Publishers, I created an initial set of basic cards and data visuals based on their work processes and objectives. Using Material Design guidelines ensured accessibility and user-friendliness and enabled me to concentrate on solving users' issues.
The Dashboard summary project underwent multiple user testing and iterations before its final form. During this time, I collaborated with the product management and data visualization engineering team and defined new advanced features like the ability to add widgets.
The end product was a simple, clean, and visually-driven single-page summary that displayed only the most essential insights while allowing Advertisers and Publishers to explore further if needed. This project also inspired the redesign of the Ad campaign manager.
